We both (Elisabeth & Wilma) loved to hear stories told by our mum (your aunt Emmi) about Karl’s and Jim’s visit to Ritzing: she was shocked as the boys climbed on the roof top or tried to catch pigs with a lasso.
We were glad to be informed about your careers and private lives, as your mum often sent long letters and pictures to keep us up to date.
When I (Wilma) came to Canada for the first time in my youth – Karl, Jim and I created wonderful memories with our waterski adventures.
Visits from our Canadian families were always highlights – and Emmi was very happy especially when Karl talked in German to her. Despite the great distance, we always felt like family, although we would have loved to have personal contact more often.
