Growing up I remember my Dad saying, “family is the most important thing”.  He would often remind me of this when I was young and going through the trials and tribulations typical of a teenager.  With this sentiment in mind, I always knew, no matter what life brought, I had the security of a rock-solid family and their unwavering support.

Our Dad played the leading role in this family and fostered what I believe to be the best childhood for Erik and myself that anyone could dream of.  He always gave the best advice, especially when it came to major life decisions.  It’s tough navigating these uncertain waters without the calm wisdom, and assurance from our family’s fierce leader.

I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend time working with my Dad as together we created our business Bluewater Biosciences.  Witnessing my Dad at work, I saw what a great influence he was on others, he was incredibly intelligent, yet always humble, he was a gifted speaker and gave a deeper meaning to his environmental presentations.

Our Dad had a remarkable connection to nature which enriched his life and those around him.  In sync with the rhythms of nature, and basing his plans on the weather, he lived more freely than anyone I have known.  When the winds permit and the open waters of Georgian Bay sparkle in the sun, I’ll think of you Dad, and I will continue to be inspired by your life.
